There didn't seem to be a good time during the port, so I hope you don't mind that I'm leaving you this note. I wanted to thank you for what you did to help me during the jailbreak, and also, to apologize.
In the few weeks since the spell was broken, I've come to understand some of the less obvious ways a spell like that could hurt people -- hurt I never intended to inflict. I'm sorry for the suffering you experienced as a result of my actions, and I am resolved not to make the mistake again. You're a good friend.
If you ever want to talk D, D & EMD, or the uses of Earth-adjacent plants, just say the word!
[Bodhi spends some time contemplating this rather odd gesture. He can't help being a little... flattered? Paper still feels fancy to him. There's a formality to it as a result, though, and that's just a bit weird. He thought they got along fine, and frankly there's nothing so weighty in the confession of some culpability that hasn't come up in general conversation.
That and being complimented, however mildly, always short circuits his brain for a bit.
In the end, he's too timid to say anything on weightier subjects, but he does force himself to concede a point in gratitude for, well, whatever recognition this is.]
[Well, he is... deeply confused. He certainly doesn't know her. Can't imagine why he'd ever be in the same room as a princess. There's a slim chance she's from his own universe, maybe? Whatever the reason, all he can do is be polite. Except, well, princess. So he doesn't open with "welcome to the terrible boat."]
Is this alright, or would you rather in person? I can duck out of the infirmary to wherever's convenient.
I wanted to ask if you were interested in leaving the Barge for a little while. I'm asking a few of my friends on a...a bit of a celebratory trip. A vacation, of sorts. Interested?
Hux brings three things: his rug, given to him by Erskine to replace the one they bled all over; his coffee machine, very important; and his cat, tucked away in his shirt pocket, snoozing.
He knocks at his - their? - door with a hurried shuffle of items in his arms.
Bodhi opens it quickly, refusing to be hesitant and overcompensating.
Before he can start talking, Dio is attempting to insert himself to
investigate the kitten, and providing a welcome reason to take the rug and
have something to do with his hands. "It, um, I don't know if... if there's
anything you want to change that's fine, I just guessed, so--Dio, no
climbing people, you little monster."
[Maybe a slightly later response than usual. Not by much. Bodhi's never neglectful of wardening, but he did enjoy himself a bit too much on that trip, and a little bleariness lingers.]
[It's not Hux who stalks over to Bodhi in the morning and sticks a loaded blaster under his chin. It's a fresh-faced, grim-smiling Imperial in the cloak of an admiral]
[Bodhi, mulling over the current flood's implications and never his best in the morning, is not difficult to surprise. He is, however, somewhat difficult to rattle. His cowardice is purely social. His response to the extremely deadly physical threat is to scan the room for the cats, staying obligingly still and only tracking with his eyes. Since neither of them are present to be endangered, he tightens his fingers on his coffee mug until his knuckles are white, but otherwise keeps his cool.]
Currently? Fine. We fortunately haven't had much of a mass death since... that port. But one of those could knock the knees out from under us if we're not getting regular restocks.
Pen and paper, folded up and taped to Bodhi's cabin door

Maybe you can help me try to put together a game?

[A bit too long of a pause.]
N-no, I mean, that sounds... that sounds so nice, but, no, I really... I couldn't leave Freeza. And there's the cat.
