Hux brings three things: his rug, given to him by Erskine to replace the one they bled all over; his coffee machine, very important; and his cat, tucked away in his shirt pocket, snoozing.

He knocks at his - their? - door with a hurried shuffle of items in his arms.

Bodhi opens it quickly, refusing to be hesitant and overcompensating. Before he can start talking, Dio is attempting to insert himself to investigate the kitten, and providing a welcome reason to take the rug and have something to do with his hands. "It, um, I don't know if... if there's anything you want to change that's fine, I just guessed, so--Dio, no climbing people, you little monster."

He hands over the rug gratefully, in order to help pick up Dio and bring him closer to where Huck is starting to climb out, wanting to stretch and explore this new place.

"He's all right, he's just curious." Hux then addresses the other cat very seriously.

"Diogenes, this is your younger sister. You will be nice to her." He bends down to set both cats on the floor and Huck immediately arches her back at this big boy.

"They're siblings? That's how it works?" He's willing to accept this. Cat ownership is strange. Bodhi props the rug against a wall and returns quickly in case he needs to intervene. Dio is confused by a cat smaller than he is, but knows what to do about her threat display. Well, by Dio logic he does, since he mainly just pokes her emphatically, clawless but not exactly polite.

"Yes." He says with conviction. "Siblings from different sets of parents, of course." He goes to set the coffee maker down and watches as the two cats are introduced to one another.

Huck is booped in the forehead and she darts back and then forward again at a sideways angle to make herself look bigger/tougher than she is. She hasn't growled yet and her ears aren't back, so Hux doesn't see the need to intervene just yet. She'll have to settle down eventually; this is Dio's territory and she's the intruder.

"We should be recording this."

Bodhi loops his arm around Hux's and hopes it looks casual. The cat ridiculousness is very welcome. Keeps him from thinking too hard. But he wants to cling and is worried he might do it too much. "To embarrass them with later?" Dio is beginning to close in to investigate further, and rather suddenly decides he'd like to try to bowl her over, the little beast. "Dio!"

He blinks at the other man's instigation, giving a shy smile back and going along with it. He'll have to get used to this whole affectionate touching thing.

Hux turns back as Bodhi calls the cat's name, just as Huck realizes it's not a good thing to threat display at someone bigger than you who is probably also part panther. She gets pushed on her side and seizes onto Dio, trying to bunnykick him into submission.

"Well, that's something. I think we have to let them fight it out first."

He usually let's Hux start it, it's true. He's just a little giddy and a lot nervous here. The arm thing is easy and isn't going to crowd the man. And lets him keep an eye on the cat nonsense. Dio has decided that being kicked is easily solved by licking, because he is somewhat deranged and doesn't know how to cat.

"Yeah, I think they're going to work it out. You want to put that down?" The coffee maker is probably heavy enough to be annoying.

Huck yowls indignantly when she's licked and tries to escape under the nearest piece of furniture.

Hux nods, extracting himself to go place the coffee maker in the kitchen and get a look at the new place for himself.

"Yes please. This is a lovely apartment. Your specifications, or the Admiral's?"

"I had no idea what to ask for," he admits. He didn't want anything like his childhood home or the academy, for different but obvious reasons, and he's only lived in ships and barracks since. And while he'd have gladly chosen for Hyx instead, they're rather alike that way. There's no home to recreate. "So I just asked for something nice, and from the right galaxy. You wanted to visit Coruscant, so I thought..."

He blinks, and walks to the viewscreen to check the skyline, surprised that Bodhi remembered.

"Huh. So that's Coruscant." He murmurs under his breath, eyeing the 'city' outside and then the apartment around them.

"This is less extravagant and more comfortable than what I was picturing."

"I asked for about midway up the towers." Neither of them exactly has a taste for luxury. "Besides that, all I wanted specifically was a study and enough kitchen space. The rest just..." He waves a slightly helpless hand at the furniture and decor. Not a single decision by him. Only a few Christmas gifts of snacks and drinks on the counter make it look like anything but a real estate ad.

He looks around, feeling rather lost in the midst of a large apartment.

"It's certainly that." He says, lamely. "I do like it, it's only going to take me a bit to get used to this amount of space."

Bodhi nods, frowning. "I know what you mean. That's why I was specific about the rooms. We can't get too lost in a kitchen or an office, right?" A living room was too weird an idea.

"Well, I appreciate your foresight. Good job. Shall we go exploring?" He pokes his head into what he thinks is the right direction for the office.

Bodhi falls into step, though he turns back to make sure Dio isn't being too dreadful. At the moment he appears to be nursing hurt pride, so the kitten must have taken back some of her own. "Alright, you big bully, leave the little bully alone," he says absently, opening the door to the study. Like the rest of the place, it's rather spare, but at least the electronics are of the right era.

Bodhi might have moved the two desks to be side by side. Possibly. Other than that it's just as it arrived. "There's not much shelf space. I didn't think of that until, well, we wouldn't need it back--I mean, neither of us actually owns books, anyway. We can just keep library piles."

Hux smirks, and pets Dio on his way over. Huck is nearby, exploring on her own and doing her best to ignore the much larger threat in the room.

He walks into the study area, poking about curiously.

"I can build some, if we find things in port." He loves this odd playing at domesticity. It feels thrillingly illegal.

"Good idea." Not very practical, exactly, easier to ask or even buy in some ports, but making a project of it has its appeal. "That's one thing to be said for the extra space. A little rearranging and we could probably set up plenty of projects in here. If you needed to build some dog wheelchairs or something."

"I can't believe you remembered my medicated ramblings. You know I was half mad at the time I suggested those, right?"

"I will never forget heavily medicated Hux as long as I live," he says with his usual wry monotone. "Really, though, if a proper workspace was... there's room."

"My medicated self was an entirely different person and you have unrealistic expectations of him." Hux sits down at one of the chairs, checking the lighting and power.

"I like this."

Bodhi has a snotty point to make about inhibitions and in vino (percocet) veritas. It doesn't make it out of his mouth. He is trying very hard not to be ridiculous, but Hux basking in a spot made for them to share us... He swallows and straightens up. "Good. Me too."

He nods to the other chair beside him at the second desk.

"Did you think of that, or did the Admiral?"

"There were two of them. I just did a little rearranging." His sheepish shrug is a bit too quick. "I'll move it back if...”

"No! No, I like it. I think it's a good collaboration." He cuts Bodhi off.

"We can work on projects together here."
