"I will never forget heavily medicated Hux as long as I live," he says with his usual wry monotone. "Really, though, if a proper workspace was... there's room."

"My medicated self was an entirely different person and you have unrealistic expectations of him." Hux sits down at one of the chairs, checking the lighting and power.

"I like this."

Bodhi has a snotty point to make about inhibitions and in vino (percocet) veritas. It doesn't make it out of his mouth. He is trying very hard not to be ridiculous, but Hux basking in a spot made for them to share us... He swallows and straightens up. "Good. Me too."

He nods to the other chair beside him at the second desk.

"Did you think of that, or did the Admiral?"

"There were two of them. I just did a little rearranging." His sheepish shrug is a bit too quick. "I'll move it back if...”

"No! No, I like it. I think it's a good collaboration." He cuts Bodhi off.

"We can work on projects together here."

"That was kind of the plan, yeah," Bodhi mutters. "But, well, this was what I figured we'd use. I can't see us actually wanting, you know, a dining room or anything like that."

"A complete waste of space." Hux agrees. "We have a canteen for that."

And he can't see them taking to entertaining much, though Hux is the more socially apt of the two of them by far these days, what does he know? Bodhi slides into place behind Hux and sets a hand on each shoulder. "This... this works, then?" He knows the nerves are irrational. This was Hux's idea. Any little changes are probably easy.

He reaches for Bodhi's hand on his shoulder, holding it reassuringly.

"It works." Hux's tone brokers no argument. "I'm pleased." Sometimes it helps to spell things out precisely.

It really does. Flustered but convinced, Bodhi finally manages to stop fussing. About that. "How's the shoulder?" Since his hands are already in the right place.

"Better." Bodhi's need to fuss is transparent even to Hux, to whom the concept of being fussed over is practically alien. He rotates the shoulder with a warm smile.

"You don't mind taking a look, do you?"

"Absolutely not." It's always comforting to be able to zero in on something he's sure is wanted, not to mention the fact that it's just nice, hovering behind Hux and having pretty free range for cuddles. "I cant say you don't take care of it. Guess I'll be keeping you hours now. You still go to the gym at kriffing awful in the morning?" He's teasing. It's not like he has a schedule to disrupt.

"Five is a perfectly reasonable time of day when you want to take a shower and be at breakfast by eight." He replies silkily, with no amount of disdain for those who keep later hours.

"But I will do my best not to wake you when I leave."

"You might as well," he admits in all fairness. "I can at least do caf and morale boosting." He is not one for the gym.

A nod and an exhale, as he tugs subconsciously at one of his gloves. Maybe this will work.

"I've never shared a bed with anyone. It'll be a new experience for me."

Well. That's one question answered. He coud, he supposed, have actually asked it and saved the trouble of the extra bedroom. But he doesn't really care about the admiral's trouble, if any. And if Hux had said no he'd have had to live with that, while just quietly taking a separate bedroom would just be a choice, not a rejection.

Bodhi takes a moment to consider his response. Hux has certainly never expressed interest in his dubious expertise. "I haven't fallen asleep on you often enough to get some practice in?" he asks lightly, testing the tension of the trouble spot under his thumb before he goes too deep.

He smiles despite his nerves, and shakes his head.

"No, I mean. That hardly counts. That's either your couch or mine, not 'ours'."

"I know what you mean." Bodhi's glad to find one irrational thought reflected for once. He's not the only ridiculous one for once. He digs his fingers a bit deeper, leaning down a bit as he adds judicious pressure along just the shoulders. Not lower. "I... I'm looking forward to it."

He makes a hiss between his teeth, trying to free himself of his restricting jacket for Bodhi.

"Sleeping? There's a shock."

"Maybe." He is a bit nervous about bugging Hux with his weird nocturnal habits, but he's always better able to relax with the company. "It's more likely, anyway." He obliges, moving his hands out of the way and beginning again with less cloth in the way. He sticks to the shoulders but is otherwise a bit self indulgent, taking his time tracing over the muscle there, petting as much as massaging and drawing in close.

He's doing his best to relax, part of him feeling like he's taking too much in this relationship and part of him wondering if it doesn't, in fact, relax Bodhi to do this with him. Some kind of innate bonding activity that years of imperial academy, past and present, tried to suppress.

"This is going to be a good thing." Hux says, with conviction.

Bodhi certainly gets a kick out of any good reaction he can get out of Hux. This one emboldens him a little more when it seems to go well. There's one weakness he finds fascinating but rarely dares exploit. Maybe it's a special enough occasion. He leans in close and lowers his voice. He hasn't noticed that it matters much what he say says when he does this, just that the simple little intimacy seems to get to Hux. "I'm glad you asked. Who knows how long it would have taken me."

He leans in close to hear Bodhi better, curious, his head practically on the other's shoulder.

"I'm much more of a pushing instigator than you."

One hand sneaks itself free of shoulder rub duty to run his fingers through Hux's hair and down his jaw. The angle he's twisted into to wrap himself around a seated Huxlike a cuddly snake is very uncomfortable, but he wouldn't move for the world. "I'll give you that one," he agrees in the same low voice. "Stubbornness is kind of an art with you."
